How long is the race?
The Norton Sports Health 10k is a 6.2 mile race.

What time does the Race start?
The race begins at 9 a.m. Eastern Time.

How do I register?
You can register online at our secure site starting Feb. 1, 2021. Click on the Registration icon on the Home page and follow the directions. Online registration will close at midnight on Oct. 1, 2021. Remember – there are no refunds or deferrals to future years.

Is there a capacity limit (cap) on the races?
Yes. The race is limited to the first 750 to register.

May walkers participate in the Norton Sports Health 10k?
Yes, walkers may participate.

Where is the Start Line?
The start line will be the main road that goes around the Egg Lawn.

Where is the Finish Line?
The finish line is also on the main road that goes around the Egg Lawn.

What time does the Finish Line close?
The finish line will close at 11 a.m.

Are headphones, ipods or MP3 players permitted?
You may wear your headphones, ipods or MP3 players; however, we ask that you keep the volume at a reasonable level for your own safety and out of courtesy for fellow participants.

You should still be able to hear participants and volunteers in proximity to you.

Do I need to return the chip?
No. We are using disposable chips that DO NOT need to be turned in after the race.

Are strollers allowed?
No. Due to the tight pathways used during the race, strollers and pets are not allowed in the Norton Sports Health 10k.

What is the temperature that time of year?
According to, the average high is 70 degrees Fahrenheit and the average low is 47 degrees Fahrenheit.

Where should I park?
Parking is available near the Egg Lawn inside The Parklands. To enter The Parklands parking area, use the main entrance to Beckley Creek Park (15712 Shelbyville Road). All participants will receive final parking instructions by e-mail the week of the race.

Will there be in-race hydration?
There will be two water stations strategically placed on the course. However, depending on the status of COVID-19 restrictions on race day, participants may be encouraged to bring their own water bottles to minimize the need to stop at on-course hydration stations.

Do I receive a medal?
All race finishers will receive a medal.

What will I receive for participating?
Participants will receive finisher medals, a commemorative Norton Sports Health 10K buff and virtual goodie bags. Participants will also receive bottled water, Powerade and pre-packaged snacks (energy bars, nuts, candy).

What is the route for the Norton Sports Health 10k?
The course information can be found by clicking the “Course” tab at the top navigation.

Is there a place to keep my keys and extra clothes?
Gear check will be available at the Egg Lawn.

Is bib-swapping permitted?
Yes. Bibs can be swapped until Sept. 16, 2021. To swap bibs, log into your RunSignUp account, go to “Profile” > “My Registered Races” > “View/Edit” > “Transfer to Another Runner”. There is a $25 processing fee.

When is the last day to register?
The last day to register online is Oct. 1, 2021, or when the race hits its capacity of 1,500 participants. There will be NO registration at packet pickup or on race day.

Where do I get my race packet?
Packet pickup will be Fri., Oct. 1 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Academy Sports + Outdoors, 13401 Shelbyville Road. You also can register at packet pick-up and on race day for $45.  You will need to pay with cash or credit card.

Can someone else pick up my packet for me?
Yes. But they will need a copy of your registration confirmation number, which you will receive upon registration, or a photocopy of your ID. However, depending on the status of COVID-19 in the fall, we may need to to change this policy and implement safety protocols that will require everyone to pick up their own packet.

When is the Kids Fun Run and how much does it cost for my child to participate?
Depending on the status of COVID-19, we plan to offer the Kids Fun Run will begin immediately after the start of the 10K, at approximately, 9:05 a.m. at the Start Line. All children are invited to participate in this untimed, one-loop run/walk around the Egg Lawn, totaling .75 miles. It is free to participate in the Kids Fun Run, and all children will receive a finishers medal.

Are there hotels in close proximity to the Parklands?
Yes, you can click here to search for available hotels.

What types of wheelchairs are allowed?
Push-rims are the only style of wheelchair allowed. The top three male/female wheelchairs are recognized in each event.

Are there bathrooms on the Norton Sports Health 10k course?
Bathrooms will be available (typically porta-potties) at the start line and near the water station along the course.

How do I get my results?
You will be able to get results on the website immediately following the race.

What is the cancellation policy?
